Buhari vows to ease importation for manufacturers through forex supply

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has assured the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria that his regime will do everything in its power to improve access to foreign exchange for importation of raw materials and machines that are not available locally. Buhari said this on Wednesday at the State House during an advocacy visit of the leadership of MAN, in response to requests on making the manufacturing sector contribute more to the Nigerian economy. This is according to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, titled ‘President Buhari promises to address forex supply to manufacturers for importation’. JUST IN: Senate passes 2022 budget

  The Senate has passed the 2022 Appropriation Bill. Just as the House of Representatives did earlier on Tuesday, the Senate raised the total estimates of the Federal Government’s budget from the proposed N16,391tn to N17.126tn. Yuletide: NEMA warns against reckless driving, launches Operation Eagle Eye

  Agency Report 22 December 2021 The National Emergency Management Agency on Wednesday launched “Operation Eagle Eye” with a warning to motorists against reckless driving during Christmas and New Year celebrations. Hajiya Zainab Sa’idu, Head, NEMA Minna Operations Office, who flagged off the exercise in Minna, said it is part of the agency’s readiness as an emergency responder to respond to disasters during the yuletide season, the News Agency of Nigeria. “This is by refreshing and updating our response capacity through demonstration of extrication with search and rescue practicals to equip ourselves with the right knowledge on how to rescue victims,” she said. Sa’idu said the agency is collaborating with key stakeholders such as the Federal Road Safety Corps, Federal and State Fire Services, Nigerian Red Cross and Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, to manage disasters.
